Note – I have not personally run a Facebook ad campaign as of writing this.
And I don’t know if I should? Those following my adventures into the Facebook world will know that I am a general skeptic when it comes to spending too much time and money on Facebook. I still think much of what happens in the social networks is based on a knee-jerk type of reaction without much thought to the actual effectivity of the campaign combined with the other aspects of digital marketing.
While reviewing my own personal experiment (http://www.facebook.com/epsteinphoto), I noticed these ads, well let me put it this way, I became consciously aware of them (advertising at its best?). However it wasn’t because of brand which was advertising, rather, it was more of the irritation factor. Which then made me think – how many people actually click through on these ads? There is more than an abundance of social junk for the avid Facebooker to plough through, let alone time to actually click through on an ad.
My opinion: save your money and time and place ads on Google.
